Selected each year by our guests and our producers, the Chef of the Fest is chosen based on flavor, presentation and personal flair. Last year’s winner, Chad Horvath, took home this prestigious trophy.
CHEF OF THE FEST RULES
To be eligible for the title of "Chef of the Fest" you must present a "Chef's Demo" on the BEST BUY Kitchen Theatre as scheduled by the producers of the festival. You will present your Chef's Demo according to the rules listed below:
1. You must be approved by the Festival Producers to participate
2. You must be scheduled to present on the BEST BUY Kitchen Theatre
3. Chef's Demos must be no more than 30 minutes in length
4. You must provide the judges and attendees with 25 samples of the same dish being prepared for the Chef's Demo
5. Samples MAY NOT be prepared on the BEST BUY Kitchen Theatre, they must be prepared in a Health Department Approved facility
6. You do not need to speak, but a lapel mic will be provided if requested
7. You must provide the HOST of the BEST BUY Kitchen Theatre with a list of ingredients and special cooking techniques prior to your Chef's Demo for his commentary while you cook
8. You must bring all necessary cooking ingredients and special equipment necessary to prepare your dish. Most standard cooking appliances and accoutrement will be provided by the producer of the festival
9. Chef of the Fest will be determined by a combination of the judges scores and the attendee comments. The Award Presentation will take place on 8 PM on Staurday April 30, 2011 at 8 PM on the BEST BUY Kitchen Theatre
10. Judges names are kept confidential until after the festival. They are available by request only.
